super girls . . .

we are going to have 3 little superhero girls in our house come Christmas morning. when i saw these capes from babypop . . . i knew i had to order a cape for each of my girls. i can't wait to see how many people they save while flying around my house . . . maybe they can save me from my ever-growing piles of laundry! (i ordered an extra one for another little superhero . . . but i can't say who it's for because i don't want to ruin the surprise!)

this conversation took place on my bed tonight while we were watching the wizard of oz. little miss was sound asleep!

shrimp: i love you dylan.
shrimp: i love my dylan mommy!
me: that is so sweet baby girl. sissy loves you too!
shrimp: she's big!
shrimp: i'm little.
me: i know she is big . . . and you are growing too and you will be that big soon.
shrimp: but i'm little now.

my little shrimp might be . . . well . . . a little shrimp but she has the biggest heart!

think she is excited?

my little miss got her cheerleading uniform today and oh my goodness . . . she was so excited! i mean . . . just look at the smile! she couldn't wait to try it on. i have been trying to get her to show us her dance part of her competition routine for a long time now. well . . . she always tells me that she doesn't remember it. so of course . . . being the mom who wants her to do well at competition, i tell her make sure you are working extra hard at practice and really paying attention to coach fran so you can learn it really well. so tonight as soon as she gets her uniform on she says . . . mommy and daddy . . . . watch my dance! well the little stinker does the whole dance . . . and does it so well! this whole time i think she has known the dance and just didn't want to do it or maybe she just needed the uniform to give us the full effect!

note to self . . .

keep my purse out of reach of 1 yr old . . . she is just like her 2 yr old sister!

everyone has been feeling a little run down here at our house . . . so the girls and i whipped up a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup last night for dinner.

this is what frankenstein looks like! who knew he was so cute?

little miss loves to dress herself . . . and today was no exception! after she finished her clothing masterpiece today, she asked me what she looked like. i was thinking she was looking for a cute . . . smashing darling . . . just beautiful. so i tell her she looks so cute! well . . . she informs me that no she doesn't look cute, she looks just like frankenstein!

let me set the scene . . .

it's monday afternoon. the girls are watching sesame street. all 5 of us are in the living room together. daddy picks up the clicker. little shrimp looks at him and says . . . "no daddy . . . you can't watch football!"

needless to say . . . shrimp won and daddy didn't watch football!

sew easy . . .

and actually really cute! who knew turning a dish towel into a child's apron would be such an easy and cute project! the girls love it . . . i love that it was so quick. it took less than an hour . . . and i think it could take only about 30 minutes . . . but during that hour i played with brown eyes . . . and got her down for a nap. i'm actually going to make up a few . . . some girly and some boyish . . . and give to the girls' school for kitchen play and dress up. oh and most importantly . . . it was so inexpensive. the only thing i had to buy was a package of double fold binding . . . and that was less than $2.

time to sew . . .

this is such an awesome idea! i can't wait to get started . . . i am hoping to do as many projects as time permits. and hopefully time does permit . . . because there are several days that i can't wait to see what the projects are! and of course . . . when time does permit i will post the lovely handmades here!

nap time . . .

i just love getting a custom order! this custom nap mat was such a fun project . . . just look at the funky and cheerful fabrics! little miss has already asked that i make her one with the exact same fabrics . . . guess i'm not the only one who loves it! these will be going on tutti fruity designs . . . just as soon as i can figure out why the photos aren't loading correctly. i think these would make a great gift . . . not just for preschoolers, but for little ones who have started having sleep overs too. when they aren't in use . . . roll them up . . . tie the bows . . . and sit them on the bed as an extra decorative pillow!
